LFUCG leadership will meet with the Mayor's administration to discuss budget priorities department by department. Council Members have been invited to attend these informational hearings. 

A brief, 4 question survey will be live for the public to share their feedback with Council about budget priorities. 

The public is also welcome to email their thoughts to Council members, leave them a voicemail, or schedule a meeting. 

Mayor Linda Gorton will provide an overview of her proposed FY27 Budget at 3:00 PM. 

Council budget subcommittees (called "links") will meet to discuss their assigned portion of the Mayor's Proposed Budget. The Council may choose to call for input from various department and division leaders as needed. 

Public comment will be heard in person at the Mayor’s Budget Hearing on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 6 PM. 

The hearing will take place in Council Chambers of the Government Center: 200 E. Main Street, Lexington, KY 40507.

The Urban County Council is required to pass an annual budget by June 15 of each year, according to the local city charter. 

Council has scheduled the second, final reading of the FY27 Budget to take place during their Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 3:00 PM.
